Restorative Specialist

Department: Physical Therapy (106)
Location: Corbin, KY

Job Summary:

As a Restorative Specialist, you’ll bring focus, critical thinking, and creativity to every interaction. You’ll support the Interdisciplinary Team in helping Participants maintain safety, strength, balance, and independence. You’ll work both in the center and in Participants’ homes to implement exercise programs, restorative activities, and home safety interventions. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working independently, and seeing meaningful results from their efforts.

Hourly Wage:

$16.00 / hr.

Schedule:

First shift, full-time hours. Specific work hours will be established in consultation with your supervisor.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Implement individual and group exercise programs in the center using a variety of equipment
  • Perform delegated restorative exercises safely and effectively, documenting results on flow sheets.
  • Conduct home safety checks and assist Participants with home exercise programs.
  • Deliver and set up durable medical equipment and track usage.
  • Provide staff education on wellness programs, fall prevention, body mechanics, and posture.
  • Educate Participants and their families on exercises, safe mobility, and functional independence.
  • Maintain clean and organized treatment areas, including sanitizing surfaces and replacing linens.
  • Apply heat/cold modalities per policy.
  • Track wellness forms and document Participant interactions accurately in electronic medical records.
  • Transport Participants and equipment safely throughout the center.
  • Communicate changes or concerns immediately to therapists or supervisors.
  • Participate in Quality Initiative training as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain after hire — we’ll provide the training!)

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Basic knowledge of exercise programs and restorative care.
  • Experience working with the frail or elderly population is a plus — but not required. We’ll provide hands-on training and mentoring to help you grow!

Requirements:

  • Requires valid State driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Successful completion of background check, physical, drug screening, TB Screening

Physical Requirements:

  • Sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during working hours.

  • Is subject to frequent interruptions.

  • Must be constantly alert for Participant’s safety.

  • Is subject to lifting, carrying, and supporting Participants.
